Start with one provider or both

Home Assistant remains a complete CasaRay provider. Apple Home is optional and included in CasaRay Free on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. During setup, choose only the Apple Home accessories that CasaRay should import. Disconnecting Apple Home later does not change your Home Assistant configuration.

Combine devices deliberately

An accessory can appear through both providers, but names are not reliable proof that two records are the same physical device. CasaRay keeps them separate until you explicitly pair them. A paired device can then use a preferred provider route for supported capabilities while the rest of the app continues to work with one normalized device.

Use protected Apple Home camera sessions

Selected Apple Home cameras use Apple's protected snapshot and live-session path. CasaRay does not convert those pixels into a reusable URL. Incoming audio and talkback appear only when supported. Apple Home Secure Video history remains in Apple's apps because it is not exposed by the public HomeKit framework.

Know the platform boundary

Apple Home discovery, controls, and protected camera sessions run directly in CasaRay on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Apple Watch and CarPlay use CasaRay's normalized state through the paired iPhone rather than opening their own independent HomeKit connection.
