CasaRay’s Home screen is not an entity list. House Now collects the questions that commonly matter first: is an access point open, how many lights are on, what is the indoor condition, and what is happening with energy. Items that need attention sit nearby, while quiet devices remain available without taking over the page.
This matters more as a home grows. A compact home can tolerate a flat grid. A house with dozens of lights and many outdoor areas cannot. The first screen should explain the state of the home before asking you to choose an entity.
Move from intent to detail
CasaRay follows one repeatable path:
- Summary: the current whole-home state and notable exceptions.
- Groups: access, lights, blinds, climate, garden, audio, scenes, and other practical categories.
- Rooms: active rooms can lead while quiet rooms remain easy to reach.
- Devices: exact state and precise controls appear when you choose them.
The model remains consistent on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Wider screens can show more context and direct navigation, but they do not invent a separate organization system.
Keep building integrations, helpers, automations, dashboards, and entity metadata in Home Assistant. CasaRay reads that home and presents it for everyday use.
Keep risky controls deliberate
A large home often includes gates, garage doors, and locks. CasaRay asks for confirmation for those risky actions by default so a broad overview does not make them easy to trigger by accident. People who deliberately choose the No Ask policy globally or for a device can send the action immediately. Availability still depends on the services and capabilities exposed by the Home Assistant entity.
Use search when the hierarchy is not enough
Groups and rooms should handle normal navigation. Search is for the moment when you already know the control you want. This combination avoids both extremes: memorizing a dashboard and scrolling through every device in the house.
